For nearly 25 years, Byte Back has been providing a pathway of inclusive and relevant tech training that leads to meaningful careers in the tech industry. As a leader in both digital inclusion and digital equity, we serve and train more than 500 adults every year to help bridge the digital divide. Byte Back's students are predominantly people of color, women, and unemployed or underemployed adults. By the year of 2025, nearly 85,000,000 jobs will be lost to automation and machine learning. We exist to reskill these individuals to help them be marketable for 21st century jobs. On average, our graduates who are hired increase their annual earnings by more than $23,000. Byte Back believes everyone deserves to have access to tech skills that lead to gainful employment in order to reap the benefits that come from participating in the tech industry.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an adjunct Computer Foundations Instructor to join the instruction team. Use your IT certification, experience teaching adults, and your passion for inclusion to help Byte Back students in achieving living wages through tech training. Our ideal candidate will love relationship building, getting results, and working on a diverse team.

About Your Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Teach classes and workshops in computer and internet fundamentals
  • Track student progress, attendance and needs in organizational database
  • Provide a safe and orderly learning environment in the classroom
  • Provides referrals to students in need of additional training or tutoring to Byte Back's Tutoring program
  • Escalate students in need of additional support services outside of training or career development to the Student Services Coordinator
  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of additional computer training curricula and digital literacy classes based on the trainer's expertise and organization goals
  • Utilize effective teaching strategies that provide opportunities for student learning and active engagement in the learning process.
  • Assist in the maintenance of IT equipment for training and other tools used in the delivery of training
  • Escalate any support needs or technical issues to the Lab Assistant

About Your KSA's


  • Fundamental understanding of computers and confident in using them.
  • Confident navigating basic functions of computers to include (computer basics, the internet, communication tools, interpret media, reproduce data and digital manipulation)
  • Ability to manage and give instruction to a classroom of adult learners.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • AA or BA in relevant field
  • Expert level understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience teaching individuals
  • Experience using CRMs (Salesforce)

Employment Type

Adjunct (Temporary) 15-25 hours per week (socially distanced in-person and online)
Employee Compensation and Benefits: Salary is commensurate with experience
